Did you know sign language offers great benefits for little ones?
It supports language development, strengthens emotional bonds, and fosters social skills.
At PequEmociones, we believe communication is key from the earliest months. Even before they can speak, babies want to express what they need and feel. That’s why we use Baby Signs in all our classrooms for children under 3.
This method gives babies the tools to communicate before they talk. While originally based on American Sign Language (ASL), we adapt our signs to Spanish Sign Language (LSE). Children learn to use simple signs to ask for water, milk, playtime, or even express feelings like tiredness.
Why do we use Baby Signs?
- Language bridge: early signing promotes verbal language development by encouraging communication.
- Reduced frustration: when children feel understood, they are more confident and less frustrated.
- Stronger emotional bonds: clearer communication builds trust and security between adults and children.
- Cognitive & emotional development: recognising and naming emotions boosts emotional intelligence and learning.
At PequEmociones, signs are integrated naturally into daily routines-during meals, rest time, play, and more-making communication intuitive and meaningful.
